Electric Vehicles (EVs) come in two main types - Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) that only use batteries paired to electric motors to propel the vehicle, and Plug-in Hybrid EVs (PHEVs) that can switch between a standard gasoline motor and an electric motor paired with a battery. Both types of EVs have rechargeable batteries, and charging an EV can be cheaper and more convenient than filling up with gas at the pump.
